I am currently trying to trace my mothers younger sister who was given to either an orphanage or put into some kind of care/shelter establishment during 1941 or 1942. They used to live on Woosung street in the Kowloon area. They used the ferry to cross over to the Wan Chai area of Hong Kong Island. Her name was Bao siu wun (Bao being the surname, meaning abalone).

My mother was about 4-5 years old when her sister was given away. She remembers her mother (Ng Sim) telling her this establishment had lots of young children playing together. She also recollects the name YING TONG mentioned.

Can anyone help or suggest ways of accessing records held in these establishments?
