My fiance is a Wu, she is from Taiwan. I am looking myself for an understanding of how to trace Chinese genealogy, and her father's ancestry. She has only been able to fill in up to her great grandparents on that side of the family because they did not keep records. Her families did not come to Taiwan with Chiang Kai Shek, they had migrated over to the island hundreds of years earlier from Mainland China. I would like to know more about the origins of her family. I have considered hiring a genealogist in Taiwan to help with her specific lineage because I don't know Chinese and my wife moves here to America in September, and of course she doesn't know anything about genealogy.
