Thanks, Al, but again we have a problem. He came out here about 1850 and supposedly spent some years in NSW before moving to Queensland. Unless he was assisted or had the money to come first class he is probably included in the usual statement which reads something like this: "250 Coolies in Steerage", a common comment from most of the arriving vessels I've been able to check out, and that is quite a few.
I guess my main problem is still trying to discover his Chinese name, but I am just about to give up on that - all roads seem to lead to brick walls at this point!!!
