: thanks

There is some information about the teochew people in the Encyclopeadia of Overseas Chinese published by the Singapore National Heritage Board. The teochew people are closedly related to the Hokkien people. Sometime in 1000 AD a branch of the Hokkien people settled in the Swatow region and gradually they evoled into the present day teochew people. Many have settled in South east asia particularly in Thailand. Infact one of them became the King of Thailand in the 18th century-King Thaksin. I hope this information is useful for you. Thank-you.
