A friend of mine grew up in AZ not too far from Arizona. He's in his 60s now and his last name is Ong. There aren't very many left in AZ. He came from a family of 5 and most of them moved away. Do you just want a copy of the book? or information on relatives that may be in AZ still?
: Thanks for your suggestion, but I do not know that these are the same Tangs I am looking for (I am not saying that they are not; somewhere down the line, they may end up being people I am looking to track.) The reason I have my doubts is that as far as I know, my family did not come here to work on the railroads or search for gold. My ancestors were merchants. My great grandfather and great great grandfather both retired in China -- they did not "settle here." I'm trying to locate the family association in the greater Phoenix area, because if that is where I will find this history book that exists, then that will provide me with more info with regards to family names and relations.
: : Suggest you take a look at this website: http://dizzy.library.arizona.edu/promise/ which has a good account of the early Chinese in tucson, AZ and you will find information about the various people in the Tang Family you are looking for.

: : : I am looking for the Tang Family Association in Phoenix, AZ. I understand that the father of the association, who is likely now deceased, created a book of the Tang family. It is my understanding that my sister, one of my cousins, and I are in the book (my family's contribution to it would have ended in the late 60s/early 70s). The Tang branch of my family is on my paternal grandfather's side. As I understand it, my family (paternal side) origates from HoiPing/Siyup.
