l am doing research of my family, who came from Hwang Chung , See Yap about 1857 to Robe South Australia, and overland to the Victorian Golfields, Jimmy Ah Kew was 17. He made money had an arranged marriage, bride from China, 6 children, and went back to Hwang Chun, Canton 1902, he diedd 4 months later. The family returned to Australia some 16 years later.
l would like to know if you know how l can research Jimmy leaving China, via Hong Kong about 1957, Are there documents in Hing Kong Shiiping or public records.
Another family how can l research a man named Ah Sing leaving San Franciso, usa, to Adelaide, Australia.
Any shipping records in San Francisco, with names of Chinese migrants leaving for Australia about 1855 ?
Unable to come to US, but would like to know more about events and discussion.
