Are you Cantonese? There could be several different characters b/c of the transliteration into English.
If you are Cantonese the most common character for Lai is the one the same as the singer Leon Lai. You can look up the character on www.zhongwen.com. Leon Lai's name in Mandarin in Li Ming which I believe means the dawn.
