: hello. i doubt anyone ever reads this stuff anymore, but i am 15 and don't got alot of stuff and knowledge on geneologies and family trees. anyways, i have aroused an interest in myself in finding if i am of royal descent. i know what wong means, sort of, so just need help answering the question. please email me when you find anything on the subject. thanks.

Probably not. There are a number of Chinese
surnames all written in English as Wong .
Wong was used by someone coming from the Canton
area. The two main Wongs come from the word for
king and the word for yellow (mine). I heard that
a certain king was so popular that many of his
people took that Wong for their surname. The
same character surname for a Mandarin speaker
is more often written as Wang.
