Hi!

They are different areas of China. The Fujian (Fukien,Hokkien) dialect and the Teocheow (Chaozhou, Chiu Chow) dialect are very similar and I believe in southern China although not as far south as Guangdong. Fujian is actually a province and I believe that Teocheow is a city.

If you're surfing the net for more info you'll find them under the Mandarin spellings of Fujian and Chaozhou.

BTW I also have a friend in London from Kuala Lumpur and her name is Beng Ean too!
