We are on our way to adopt a chinese baby daughter. We would like to give her a chinese forname. We are waiting to know the name that was given to her by the orphanage. However, if that name sounds too strange to French ears, we would like to call her MULAN (the name of the feminine warrior in the cartoon). I read somewhere that it means "magnolia". My questions are:
- is Mulan a chinese surname ?

- what is its exact signification ?
