I am Chin Phua born in Malaysia, resides in Singapore. My parents migrated from Yong Chun, Fujian. I know that the chinese surname Pan (in hunyi pinyin)sounds as Phua/Phoa/Puah for descendants from Fujian or Hainan and Phoon from Guandong. I have not met anyone with this same surname from the other major dialect groups like Khek.
