First, confirm that the Chinese character of your surname is the same as Hong Xiuquan's.
In Hanyu pinyin, the surname Hong is using the 2nd stress.

I am also interested about where the descendants of the Taiping rebellion are located.

However, I suspect that the originally taiping soldiers hid their previous involvement in
the movement to protect themselves and their family. So, many descendants probably don't even know that their
great grandfather or somebody participated in the movement.

Also, some taiping generals went south to Vietnam.
