: Hom or Tom family from BakSuey Province Moi Lim Tung ,Toishon dialect speakers
Got more info from elder sister that family name character is made up of three subcharacters:1. talk or speak, 2. morning or early, 3. west. Remember late father's old tale of ancestor from Chou dynasty who offended ruler and had to flee for their lives to the south and later in Sung dynasty were still not able to use ancestor's last name but 4 sons used their first names as family names for fear that they would be persecuted if used real family name. Do not know real family name but the brother's names were Hom Tom, Huey and Tse. I think there exists this 4 family cousin assn called Chew Lun today. Elder sister also showed me a family tree book from Toi-shan To Kwong Yu Assn of San Francisco but unable to find place in tree. Great grandfather was named Hom Moon Him(discribed as short man with large ears) who had son(my grandfather) who immigrated to Missisipi with one son and is buried in Alligator, Miss. along with his son(my uncle named Hom Hor Lim). My father went to Texas where he later died in San Antonio. Have one aunt(Ai Goo) who moved from Miss. to Los Angeles area with husband who died shortly after arrival but they had a daughter who later married a Chow and another aunt(Ney Goo) who lived in Hong Kong and Canton city. Can anybody help find my lineage especially in the Toi-shan Tom Kwong Yu Assn San Francisco family tree book?
