: : I am doing family genealogy and history for the Owyang and Law families from the Chinese village of Dai Leung and Law Hue, Heung Shan (now known Zhongshan) district, Kwantung (now known as Guanduong) Province, China.
: : My grandfather immigrated and worked on farms and ranches, in and around, the Isleton, Ryde, Grand Island, Walnut Grove, Locke, Courtland, and Hood areas of the Delta farm country.
: : He raised seven children, three boys and four girls. One of the boys being my father. His wife was a member of the Law family primarily born around the Courtland area.
: : My grandfather married in 1900 and went back to China with his family in 1920, and returned in 1922. Only members of the family remaining in China was his wife and two children. By the onset of the Japanese invasion of China, both children that stayed behind came back to America.
: : His wife remained behind in China until she passed away in 1961. My folks, aunts and uncles lived in Oakland, Los Angeles, and Auburn in their adult lives.
: : If you have any information or knowledge about my family or think you might have a connection, I would appreciate your input. Please e-mail me, Thank You. Lucky J. Owyang

HI,
My maternal family name is Auyong. I'm actually looking for the characters in cursive calligraphy for a family reunion in Hawaii. Our great grandparents are from the same we call in cantonese Chung Shan. I'm not sure of the village but Dai Leong does ring a bell. The Auyong or Owyang family is my maternal grandfather's surname. Most of our family we know of lives in Hawaii and can not help you because we don't know anything. My great grandparents came to Hawaii as farmers and raised their family on the farm in Honolulu. They came from China in the late 1800's. My grandfather is #2 of 8 children all born in Hawaii. He was born I believe around 1885.
