It seems less and less likely that I can show a link between myself and Hong Xiuquan. Working backwards I can get to James Hung who was born in 1867 in Canton, and who moved to Aust and married here. His father was Hung Soo and I guess he would have been contemporary with Hong Xiuquan.
What a pity! I hear so many Australians bragging about their ancestors being sent over as convicts for stealing a handkerchief - I hoped I had an interesting tale to counter them!!
