Toy Sun is a city in Guangdong Province near Canton. The area around the city is referred to as
Toy Sun District or similar to a county in the US.

Try searching for your grandfather name on the ships manifest dated closest to your best guess on date of arrival to the US.

Hope this helps you get started.

: : : I don't know if anyone can help me. My grandfather was born in China in the Toy Sun Village. I believe this is in or near Canton, China. I got the name of the village from an old family friend who came from China who's dad was good friends with my grandfather. It may be a phoentic spelling. My grandfather's Chinese name was Yee Git and his American name was Tom Yee and he came to the US around 1907 - 1910. I have a "restored" birth certificate from San Francisco, but I'm betting my grandfather took advantage of the San Francisco fire to "acquire" a birth certificate. He finally settled in Akron, Ohio. The friend told me that my grandfather had a wife and a son in China. The son would be around 65-70 now. Can anyone tell me anything about this Toy Sun village?
