Hi! I just wandered in... I'll be doing a workshop on documenting Chinese Family History if anyone is in New York City. It's the "Where is Home? for Chinese in America Conference at New York University, Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2PM. I'll be using transparencies to show select documents found in various resources in the U.S., the community, and the ancestral home.I visited my Grandmother in the ancestral home in 1994, got legible photos of the ancestral listings of the last three generations of my maternal line. Also, found (I think) my Greatgrandpa in the gold country in the 1900 California census.I started my family research late in 1992. I'm bilingual and have a library background. My book, China Connection:Finding Ancestral Roots for Chinese in America.1994/1996. I do occasional workshops and consultant work. My book's emphasis is the period of 1882-1970's of Chinese immigrants to the US. My book has bilingual aids in translating Chinese gravestones, where to get copies of immigration records, and also a little backgrouop
