your ancestry IS filipino-chinese. after some inquiry about the family (including the disappearance of tito George, and how the Agsam families in Villamonte, Bacolod City are related), it's safe to say that the Agsams in Negros Occidental came in from a wave of migrations from Iloilo in the late 19th C (start of the sugar industry in Negros) which included some filipino-chinese; while some changed their family names (like mine - which used to be "besana"), the Agsams opted to keep theirs, which is actually an arabic word (rooting to the commercial & islamic-oriented pre-hispanic culture).
