: Can someone tell me the best way to trace my husbands ancestors in China. What chinese recources are available?
: I am trying to trace my husbands G/Grandfather
: William Ah Hoon (originally Ah Hoon)from Canton China, who migrated to Victoria, Australia and worked in the Gold fields near Avoca.
: His parents were Ah Yuk(occupation Fishmonger) Canton, and Sing Yuk(nee Few or Lew not sure on spelling)
: Any help would be appreciated

Margaret:
Hoon is not a last name. Ah Hoon sounds like a given name. Similar Ah Yuk, Sing Yuk are also given names. Sound like Cantonese.
Does Australia keep good immigration records? That may be the best bet.
