: Not necessarily, but let's compare notes. My
: Great Grandfather, Fong Yen-Tong, came from
: Shing-Wei county in Guandong Province and came
: from a small village known as
: Jok-Quan (Bamboo Place). Most of the residents
: of Jok-Quan are Fongs or Fong descendants. There
: were three siblings, one of which went to Cuba.
: I plan to put up a web site in the near future.

My maternal grandfather, Julian Fong, was from the same province. He took went to Cuba as a young boy and lived there until he came to the US in '68. I check with my mother to see if she may know of your relative. Can you give me more information? I have always been curious as to the history of the Chinese in Cuba. Looking forward to hearing from you.
