I would like to know if anyone with the surname Hum living in Montreal, Canada can help me out.
I found out a few years ago that my Grandfather was Chinese and went by the name of Joseph Hum. He met my Grandmother, a Mohawk from Kahnawake just outside Montreal.
My Father was born in 1934 and lived with my Grandfather off and on for a few years. He then went to live with his Grandmother. I believe my Grandfather kept in touch with my Father, as he mentioned he was at my older brother's baptism(1961).
As far as I know he passed away in the early 70s just before I was born (1974). He was a physician in China, but was unable to pratice in Canada. He was a bit of a gambler as well.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know it is not a lot to go by, but that's all I have and I would like to know more.
