I am trying to find out more about my boyfriend's surname of Chinese origin. His name is John Lui and we live in Devon, UK. We have very little information of his Chinese decendency apart from his Grandad came to England from China (don't know where) sometime between 1920 - 1945.
We have been shown a symbol (in the past) which matches your description - you say that the meaning of this is not thunder.
