: If anyone out there can help regarding my surname, please post. Most Quiachon/Quiatchon are from the Phillippines but I hear one of my grandparents parent is chinese. Many names were changed by the Spaniards after conquering the Phillippines. Any light shed is appreciated.

Reply: I am also a QUIATCHON from Central Victorias, Negros Occidental. As far as I can remember, my grandfather, Genaro Dulla Quiatchon once told me, that the QUIATCHON'S original last name was BARCELONA, but the Japanese changed the last name because they could hardly say that surname. In case you read this, reply to my email address...My grandfather who originally hailed from Victorias town in Negros Occidental, married my grandmother Gloria Soriano Quiatchon, who was a Manilenia, who visited her brother, when my grandpa saw, was infatuated, married her and later bore 8 kids: Plaridel, Olivia, Vic, Edgardo, Enrico, Carlos, Violeta and Rodolfo.
