Generally, you're considered 2nd generation by other Asian Pacific Studies scholars as your parents are first immigrants in Canada. However, you'll also meet the traditionalists who will insist that you are 1st generation born in Canada. So, you can decide. I'm 2nd generation in the U.S. with parents who immigrated from China.
