Ours is a Prussian name, now part of what was Eastern Germany. My father and mother visited the town with our name to research the history but few of the older people would speak to them due to years of fear under communism. They did get some information from the local Lutheran church records, but not much. Our ancestors were Duke's and a Dutchess as well :)
