My last name is Lieu. it is pronounced Liu third tone. i know there is a Liu tree that grows near water/lakes/rivers. I dont know what it looks like. i found this posting bc i was looking for information on the lieu tree. i am chinese. i speak teo chew; it is a small dialect that's similar (but not the same) as taiwanese.
