Hello Roy,
I came accross your e-mail and noticed that we are probably
distant cousins. I believe the #2 man in Taiping was my great,
great grandfather. My great grandfather was a Fung
who fled to Borneo and was killed by Dyak natives.
My grandfather Fung Fet En moved from Borneo to Malaysia.
When Fung was Anglicized some dunb Swiss Missionary
spelled it with a P! That's how we ended up as Poong's but
the character is the same, based on the radical for horse.
As far as I know, I still have Fung/Foong/Poong
relatives in Borneo and Malaysia!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Frank

: My ancestor, Foong Qui Sue, a Taiping descendant,
: went to British Guiana in the 1850s. His descendant
: then went to Trinidad, in the Caribbean, where I was
: born. Some of Foongs relatives also went to Malaysia
