My greatgrandfather came from Amoy, China too. His Filipino name is Eleoterio Yap from Bugo, Cebu. Too bad I don't know his chinese name. He came to the Philippines around late 1800's. He has 4 children. One of which was my grandpa, Jesus Yap. His siblings were Marcela Yap-Sevilla, Mayang Yap-So and Bonifacio Yap. My family and I went to China just recently but we don't know where and how to contact any relatives. A friend of ours said that Yaps came from Xiamen.
