Hello! I am assuming that your family name means "warm." If so, and your ancestry is not Hakka, this particular surname is not very common in Taishan and if you do a search on the Taishan database, you will find this family name in a few scattered villages except for a concentration of Woon surname villages near Taicheng city (area 1). The collective name of this is Luodong pao (Taishanese=Loo Ong) and there is an ancestral hall in the village of Kengkuo. Apparently, this is a branch from a much larger Woon/Wen clan in the neigboring county of Heshan. The first ancestor is said to be buried in Xinhui county. If your ancestry is Hakka, you might concentrate your efforts on the Chiqi division of Taishan which was once a separate jurisdiction. The Chiqi County Gazzette has lists of a number of Woons who died during the Hakka-Punti fightings or who made contributions to the publishing of this book.
