Hi Julio. I am also A Yon from the same branch. The majority of us came from Cayey, but we do have relatives in Guayama. In 1840 the Spaniards brought the Chinese to Puerto Rico because they exterminated the Indians with forced labor. The Chinese at that point were also pretty much like slaves. Our grandfather prospered and he pretty much owned the town of Cayey. He was involved in the tobacco industry. If interested in finding out about your relatives, please contact me. Would love to know who your mother and father were. We are most definitely related. I believe that my grandfather fathered 9 children, but he also had some more children with another person.
