Hi fellas,

I just came across your site and hope someone still looks it up from time to time. I'm a Singaporean, now living in Canada and am trying to locate an old friend of mine, Wee Suat Peen. The last of her she had married an American and had moved to somewhere in north-central USA in the 80's. She and I went to school together at Raffles Girls' Sec. and were in the school brass band. Does this ring any bell at all? She would be in her late 40's. Thanks.

: Hello Edward, I am a fellow Malaysian. There are a lot of Wees . The prominent one is Singapore (still is?) president Wee Kim Wee and in Kuching one famous one is Datuk Amar Wee Hood Teck. I believe there are Wee Kongsi. Wee surname is the same as Ooi (Ipoh upwards till Kedah) and Ng (Perak down to Johore. The Ooi Kongsi is a clan association. Maybe you can register with them to find your roots. I am not sure Wee is Hokkien or Foochow people but Sarawak state sure has a lot of them. Keep searching.

: : Hello,

: : I'm a chinese Malaysian surnamed Wee. I would like to know the origins of my surname (huang/yellow). And if possible, I'd like to know if anyone would be related.

: : The farthest i could trace was to Mr. Wee Hock Kee who migrated to Kuching from Riau Island of Indonesia. If anyone has any info about the Wee family or Yellow(huang, wong, ng...)
