Thanks for providing some interesting background information on your ancestor and the Chinese in Peru. Your ancestor was quite clever in masking his Chinese name in Spanish. I understand that Lima's Chinatown has a China Benevolent Society and 3 temples: Ku Kun Chaou, Pun Yi and Y Chin. You may be able to obtain some information and records on your ancestor by visiting these organizations, which served as religious, social and family gathering places for early Chinese who migrated to Peru without families. Finally, a minor note: China is still being referred to as "Chung Kuo" in Cantonese today - - the term means the Middle Kingdom. Also, I think in the old days Guangdong Province was referred to as Canton province. Canton is the provincial capital of Guangdong Province, and the Canton name has been changed to Guangzhou.
