Hello.
My name is Marie Lowe.
My father is from Malaysia, and his Grandfather is from China.
My father told me that my Grandfather changed our family name from Liang to Lowe, as Liang had a reputation for being 'Warriors' or 'Soldiers' and the family decided to take on a more 'christian' name, when they moved to Malaysia from China.
Does anyone else have any more information on this, or know about the name Liang?
