I switched my search engine and finally found quite a bit of information on the surname Qin. There are quite a few of us left. I looked at China's history as a whole and found some interesting points regarding Qin before the First Emperor took power. Although the information has to be taken with a grain of salt, it seems the First Emperor was repeating what his ancestors were already doing. He finished and expanded it.
