My husband's Grand Uncle Pilot Officer Willie Chan Lee was "educated at Pui Ching Middle School, Canton". Willie Lee was born 1914 and died in service in 1942. Willie Lee was born in New Zealand and he was sent back to China for his Chinese lessons.

I am trying to find out a little more of the history of this school early 1920s.

Is there anywhere we can find out the overseas students who returne. Where the school was located in Canton?

My brother in law has a friend who was a teacher there - from memory he may have been a headmaster - but that may have been in more recent years.

My friend told me : "About the school, the system in China then is 3 years in the junior middle school and 3 years at the senior school before going to university"

and from the website: For years, if overseas Chinese want to sent their children back to China for education, Pui Ching has always been their top choice.
