The Tecson clan originated from the three Tecson (though I'm not quite sure this was the original spellin)bothers who immigrated to the Philippines via the Chinese junks that sailed to and from the Chinese mainland. According to my mother, Milagros Tecson Manabat (who was from San Miguel, Bulacan), these three brothers settled in Luzon (primarily San Miguel, Bulacan and the Vizayas islands) and became affluent landowners and businessmen. So you are correct in saying that persons with the Tecson last names are all related somehow.

An important note to this is that Trinidad Tecson, the Mother of Biak-na-Bato, a very courageous woman who fought the Spanish (and possibly the Americans too) with Gregorio Del Pilar is our famous kin.
