As you may know, the majority of the Chinese in the Philippines migrated from Fujian Province in China in the 1800's. I believe Sy is a typical Filipino Chinese surname. For example, Henry Sy is a well-known Chinese in the Philippines. He is one of the wealthiest men in Asia. He developed the SM Malls in the Philippines.
