As far as I know I have no immediate family in the States apart from my parents.
I am currently researching a book that I am writing and need assistance in gathering information on my paternal and maternal families.
My father came as a diplomat to the United States in 1946 and decided to stay after Chiang Kai-shek moved the Nationalist government to Taiwan.
The information I need relates to:
1) My father's family: the Wens of Hengyang, Hunan Province; descendants of the Song dynasty patriot WEN T'IEN-HSIANG; more immediate descendants of the Ming dynasty painter WEN CHENG-MING.
2) My mother's family: the Sun family of Shouhsien, Anhui.
My mother is the great-granddaughter of the Ch'ing dynasty Grand Secretary and Imperial Tutor SUN CHIA-NAI; her relatives include the industrialist/banking Suns of Shanghai, among them (Ralph) Yuan-fang Sun.
My mother is also the granddaughter of the statesman LI-HUNG CHANG.
Anyone who can provide information of any kind relating to these 3 families would be of the greatest service to me.
I looking in the first instance to establish a family tree; I also need any relevant information whether historical or anecdotal concerning members of these families.
