Apparently, your family is not alone in the Sin surname world. #264 of the website http://www.geocities.com/cplai/lastname.htm lists your surname Sin as: SIN (�d,�P see Shan; �� see Xian, SEN, SEEN; �h see Xin, San). Check it out, and if the Chinese character for your surname is not shown under the Sin surname, look through the list to find your surname character - - it may be under a different Anglicized spelling of your family name.

PS: You surname may also have Fujian Province origin and subsequent origin in the Philippines. One of the more prominent member of the Sin family clan is Jaime Sin, the former archbishop of the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. His father Juan Sin is Chinese.
