Edward Jones 1837 - 1890

Edward Jones was born in Tyddyn, Flintshire, Wales and was in 1861 a coal miner. In 1871 he was shown as a carter and was in 1881 a General Carrier. The boys of working age were all miners and the girl were working in cotton mills.

Marriage of Edward Jones

Edward married Jane Taylor as shown on the birth certificate for Sarah Ann Jones (below), however at this time no record of the marriage has been found.

Sarah Ann Jones was born 13 July 1874 in the Dingle, Park Bridge to Edward Jones and Jane (formerly Taylor) *Birth certificate kindly provided by Maggie Kafton

Note : A dingle is a small wooded valley and Park Bridge road still exists today in Bardsley.

Deaths of Edward Jones and Jane (Taylor)

Edward Jones died in 1890.

Jane Jones died in 1911 aged 71 in Ashton under Lyne.
