The Bentham Family

The following sources are from the Online Parish Clerk Project, St Wilfred, Standish. and provide the following extension to my tree. This section is confusing as there are 3 generations.. all called Henry Bentham!

Ann Bentham b. 1794

Ann Bentham b. 1794, was the wife of John Farrimond, born in 1794, her parents were Henry Bentham (i) and Betty. It was their daughter Ellen Farrimond that married Richard Wilding.

Henry Bentham (i) was still living with (Betty) Elizabeth in the 1851 census in Standish.

Richard and Ann shown in this census are obviously not the son and daughter of Henry and Elizabeth, but are probably the offspring of one of their grandchilden.

Henry Bentham (ii) was born in 1740. His parents were Henry Bentham (iii) and Jane.

Henry Bentham (iii) b. abt 1710

As couples usually married at aged about 20, it is assumed that Henry Bentham (iii) would have been born about 1710.
