"Born in Wilmot, Jan. 10, 1817; married Sarah Ann, daughter of John Prince, Apr. 21, 1842, and moved to Yarmouth that summer; was a wheelwright and a custom officer for some time. Mrs. Chute died June 8, 1857, aged thirty-four; he married 2nd, Edith, daughter of Thomas Churchill and widow of Amasa Rodney (lost at sea about 1850, leaving a daughter, Alva Jane married Captain George P. Vickery), Feb. 25, 1858, and had four children - three died young. Mr. Chute died Feb. 2, 1875."

HALL, Maude Lillian � New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Tuesday , January 15, 2008, in her 88th year in the Rosedale Home for Special Care, where she had been residing. Born in Hampton, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Clayton) Chute. She was a member of Epworth United Church, New Germany. Surviving are her sister, Ida, Bridgetown; sons Carl, New Germany, Rodney (Louise), Keddy Cove and Mexico, Barry (Kay), Australia, Alan (Arthur), Toronto, Ont., daughter Louise (Douglas) , St. Catherine�s. Ont., grandchildren Sean and Rodney, Nova Scotia, Tammy, Newfoundland, Lory, Scott and Steven, Ontario, seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joe (1981), grandchildren Geoffrey (1982), Kirsty (2001). Visitation 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, Friday in Sweeny�s Funeral Home, 4895 Route 10, New Germany. Funeral , 2 pm Saturday at Epworth United Church, Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Private family burial will follow in Epworth Cemetery. HAMPTON - Elvin Israel Poole, Hampton, Annapolis County, died Thursday in the Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born at St. Croix Cove, he was a son of the late Bradford and Effie (Chute) Poole.
He was a member of Crescent Lodge Number 63, Oddfellows of Bridgetown.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Eunice Neiley; four daughters, Jean (Mrs. George Hall), Moncton; Myrtle (Mrs. Neil Adams), Smiths Cove; Nancy (Mrs. William Phelan), Clarence; and Annie (Mrs. Gordon Clayton), Scarborough, Ont.; four sons, Harry and Wesley, both of Dartmouth; Melbourne, Hampston; and Edward, Vancouver, B.C.; five sisters, Leta (Mrs. Joseph Phinney), Granville; Kathleen (Mrs. Harry Nickerson), lloMassachusetts; Susie (Mrs. Harold Palmer), Middleton; Minnie (Mrs. Stanley Fash), and Myrna (Mrs. Mark Young), both of Bridgetown; a brother, Harvey, St. Croix Cove; and 15 grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter and a brother.
The body is at the Bridgetown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Hampton Baptist Church with Rev. George P. Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton cemetery.

YOUNG, Myrna Doris - 92, Bridgetown, passed away May 12, 2008, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in St. Croix Cove, she was a daughter of the late Bradford and Effie (Chute) Poole. She graduated from Nova Scotia Teachers College in Truro, Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and also took painting lessons. She taught school in various communities for 25 years. After retiring, she traveled twice across Canada, the Alaska Highway, 26 of the United States, eight countries and two principalities in Europe and England. Myrna was the last surviving member of a family of 10, four boys and six girls. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Miller; four grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Mark; son, Robert; son-in-law, Francis "Frank" Miller, and grandson, Mark Miller. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of the Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Bridgetown. A private family graveside service will be held in Hampton Cemetery at 4 p.m. Friday, Pastor Bill Patterson officiating. There will be no visiting and no flowers by request.
