KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

That I, Levana Butler of Storm Lake, Iowa, being of sound and disposing mind, do hereby make and publish, this, my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other wills by me made.

1. It is my will that after my decease, all my just debts, funeral and burial, and expenses of my last sickness be first paid out of any interest money which shall be on hand at the time of my decease.

2. Any surplus of such interest money shall be used so far as necessary to improve the family burial lot at Ft. Dodge, Iowa, which money shall be expended under the advise and direction of my executors hereinafter named.

3. I hereby give and bequeath to my grandchildren, Nora Reed, the sum of one hundred dollars and to Carrie Butler, Floyd Butler and Fred Butler, I will each fifty dollars. But it is my will that such sums nor any portion thereof shall be paid to said grandchildren until all money due and owning to me shall be paid to my executors so far as they shall be able to collect the same.

4. It is my will that all the residue of my estate, both real and personal, shall be divided equally among my three children: Marion Butler, Mary Reed and Harriet E. Russell, after the expense of the probate of this my will, shall have been paid.

I hereby appoint J. M. Russell and Hiram Reed as my executors of this my last will, and it is my desire that they not be required to give any bonds for the faithful performance of their duties.

[note: there was no date on this will; however, it was proven in the district court of BV county on March 20th, 1894, so it was written some time before that date]
