Buena Vista County Wills and Probate Last Will and Testament of Christian Gulbransen
I, Christian Gulbransen, of Alta in the County of Buena Vista and the State of Iowa, being
of sound and disposing mind and memory, free to act and of lawful age, do hereby make,
publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to
say:
First: After the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses I hereby give,
devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Sophia Gulbransen, all my property of every nature
and description and wheresoever found, both that is now in being and that I may subsequently
acquire, and of which I may die seized of, to have and to hold unto her the said Sophia
Gulbransen as long as she may live.
Second: After the death of my wife, the said Sophia Gulbransen, and the payment of
her just debts and funeral expenses, I desire that all of the property then remaining, whether
real or personal, shall be divided between my six children, Hilda G. Bell, Gyda G. Johnson,
Ella G. Coombs, Emma Juliane Gulbransen, Marie G. Coombs and Carl G. Gulbransen, share and
share alike. If any of these said children shall have died leaving issue, his or her share
shall go to such issue; but if any one shall have died without issue, his or her share shall
be divided equally along those who survive.
Third: I hereby nominate and appoint my son Carl G. Gulbransen and George H. Bell as
executors of this my last will and testament.
Given as my last will and testament at Alta, in Buena Vista County, State of Iowa, this
27th day of September, A. D. 1906.

The above and foregoing instrument, consisting of one sheet, was on the date thereof,
signed by Christian Gulbransen the testator in our presence, and declared to be his last will
and testament, and we at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other, hereby subscribe the same as attesting witnesses thereto. Dated this 27th day of September, 1903.
