I Hezekiah Ford of Amelia County having made my last Will and Testament in February or March last and therein .. appointed my wife Elizabeth Executrix and my Nephew John Ford Executor of the same and Believing that it will or may be of Service to my Family to Join some other Person with them I do therefore Constitute and appoint my Friend Samuel Cobb one of my Executors of the will by me made as aforesaid not Revoking any part thereof but my will and Desire is that my wife Elizabeth my Nephew John and my Friend Samuel be Executrix and Executors of the same and that them or any of them may not be compeled to give Security for the performance for that trust reposed in them and as I am now in Surry County and have not with me the will as aforesaid by me made I there- fore desire that this writing Now by me Signed may be annexed to my will made or aforesaid as a Conduct [codicil] to the same unto which I have this Sixth Day of June one thousand seven hundred fifty Two Set my hand and affixed my Seal. Sealed Published and Declared... By Hezekiah Ford that this Conduct [Codicil] Should be annexed to his last will in Presence of us

At a Court held for Amelia County the 23rd day of July 1752
The last Will and Testament of Hezekiah Ford was presented in Court by John Ford one of the Executors therein named who made oath thereto and proved by oaths of Thomas Witworth Thomas Hamm Henry Cox and _____ _____ also the Codicil thereunto annexed was proved by Benjamin Bowles one of the Witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded Elizabeth Relict of the Said Hezekiah and Executrix in this Said will mentioned Personally came into Court and declared that She would not accept or take the Legacy or Legacies to her given or bequeathed or any part thereof and doth renounce all benefit which She might claim by Will aforeSaid. Certificate is Granted John Ford for obtaining a probatt thereof is In form.
