This Indenture made the forteenth day of June
One thousand Seven hundred and forty three Between William
Clement of the one part and Samuel Major of ye other party both of
Amelia County Witnesseth That the said William
Clement for the Valiable Consideration of Ten pounds Current money
of Virginia to him in hand paid before the Ensealing and delivery of these
presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge my self to be fully
satisfied contented and paid by these presents have given Granted Bargained
Sold Alienated Enfeofed and Confirmed do by these presents Fully Clearly
Absolutely Give Grant Bargain Sell Alineate Enfefe & Confirm unto
the Said Samuel Major Two hundred acres of Land be the same more or less
according to bounds Begining at John
Clements Corner on Geo. Hams line Thence along ye said
Clement line aCross a Glade to Jacob Seays line Thence down ye Said
Seay line to his Corner Thence by a line of mark trees to Geo. Hams line
Thence along the said Hams line to ye Corner it began at To have &
to hold the above granted premises with all and Singular its Rights Members
Jurisdictions and appertenances together with all Houses Edifies Buildings
Gardens Orchard Land and Meadows Feedings Pastures Wood and Underwoods
Water Ways Profits and Comodities whatsoever thereunto belonging or in
any wise appertaining unto the said Saml. Major his Heirs and assigns
forever and the said William Clement
doth for him his Heirs Asigns Covenant Grant and agree to and with the
Said Saml. Major his Heirs and assigns in manner and form following Viz
That he the Said Saml. Major his Heirs and assigns may and shall from
time to time and at all times for ever hereafter peaceably and Quietly
have hold use occupy posses and Injoy the above granted premises and every
part and parcell with every of there Rights Members Jurisdictions and
appertenances and have receive and take the useres profits and Commodities
to his or proper uses and behoofs for ever without any lawfull Suit trouble
denial Evictions or Disturbance of him the Said William
Clement or his Heirs Executors Administrators or of any other person
or persons whatsoever by from or under him them or any of them or by his
or their or any of their means Act privity procurements and the Said William
Clement do for him self his Heirs and assigns further promis Grant
and agree to and with the Said Saml. Major his Heirs and assigns to Warrant
and Defend the above granted premises with their and every of there Rights
Members Jurisdictions and appertenances unto the Said Samuel Major his
Heirs and asigns for ever to be free and clear and freely acquited Exonerated
and discharged of all maner of forms and other Gifts Grants Bargins Sails
Seals thirds Dowries and all there Incumberances whatsoever and lastly
the Said William Clement doth
further Covenant promis and agree to & with the Said Saml. Major his
Heirs and asigns to make & perform and accomplish or cause to be made
done and performed & accomplished all and every other Act and Acts
thing and things Devise and devises whatsoever in y Law for the Strengthenening
and Confirming the promises be it by Deed or Deeds or by any other Law
or means which shall by the said Saml. Major his Heirs or asigns or by
his or their Councill learned in the Law be Reasonable and advised Devised
or requires Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day
and year above written Memorandum that quiet and peaceable possession was Granted of the within
mentioned Land and premises to Samuel Major by the other Covenantor to
these presents At a Court held for Amelia County for the 17th day of June 1743 William Clement presented and acknowledged this his Deed with livery and Seisin endorsed unto Samuel Major and ordered to be recorded Saml. Cobbs ClC |
