  This Indenture made the 24th day of May in the Year of our Lord Christ One thousand seven hundred and seventy Between William Major of the County of Cumberland of the one Part and George Major of the County of Amelia of the other Part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of Twenty eight Pounds Current Money to the said William in hand paid by the said George at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledgd He the said William Major Have granted bargained Sold Aliened and Confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain Sell Alien and confirm unto the said George Major his Heirs and Assigns one certain Tract or parcel of Land containing by Estimation Ninety six Acres lying and being in ye County of Amelia being the Land that Barsheba Major convey'd to the said William Major by Deed in the County Court of Amelia some years past and this adjoining the Land of William Hurt School master Richard Jones John Hill and James Barden with all Woods Waters Houses Orchards Profitts Commodities Hereditiments and Appurtinances thereunto belonging or in any way Appurtaining And all the Estate Right Title and Intrest of him the said William of and to the same To have and to hold all and singular the Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said George Major his Heirs & Assigns To the only proper use and Behoof of the said George Major his Heirs and Assigns forever And the said William Major for himself & his Heirs Doth Covenant and Grant to and with the said George Major his Heirs and Assigns that he the said William Major and his Heirs the said Land and Premises with the Appurtenances unto the said George Major his Heirs and Assigns against the Lawfull Claim or Demand of all every person or persons whatsoever shall and will forever Defend by these presents In Witness whereof the Parties to the Presents have set his hand and affixed his Seal the Day and Year first above written
