  This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of June in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & seventy One Between David Assling of the Parish of Raughley in the County of Amelia of the one party and John Clements of the same Parish and county of the other Part Witnesseth that the said David Assling for divers Good Causes & Considerations him thereto Moving but more Especially for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand payed by the said John Clement the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge Hath given granted Bargained sold aliened Released & Confirmed and by these presents Doth give Grant Bargain sell alien Release & Confirm to the said John Clement and to his Heirs and Assigns forever a Certain Tract or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the Parish & county aforesaid Containing Two hundred and twenty Eight Acres and Bounded as followeth, to wit, Begining at George Hams Corner thence along Hams line to the School House Branch thence Down the said Branch along a line of marked Trees to John Hughes Branch thence along the said Branch to a line o Hughes's thence along the said line to Jacob Seays line thence along the said line to a Corner thence along the said Seays line to another Corner thence along the said line to John Clements line thence along his line to George Hams line thence along the said George Hams lie to the Begining and all Buildings Woods and underwoods Standing or Growing upon the Premises and all waise Easments Profits Commodities and appertanances Whatsoever thereunto Belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Revertion & Revertions Remainder & Remainders thereof and all the Right Title use truse Intrust Property Claim & demand of him the said David Assling of & in all and Singular the Premises with all and every their Incedents and all Evidences Writings or Minuments of or Conserning the said Land or Premises To have & to hold the said Tract or parsel of Land with all and Singular the Premises herein before Mentioned Ment or Intended to be hereby Granted with all and every their appertanances unto the said John Clement & to his heirs & assigns to the only use & Behoof of the said John Clement & to his Heirs & assigns for ever from the said David Asseling & his Heirs and assigns for ever the said Tract or persel of Land and all & Singular the Premises herein before Mentioned with all the appurtanances unto the said John Clement his Heirs & assigns & to his and their only Proper use and sues against the Challenge Claim & demand of all persons whatsoever shall and will Warrant and for ever by these presents Defend In Witness whereof the said David Asseling hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal the day and year above Written

Memorandum that on the twenty seventh day of June one thousand seven hundred & seventy one Peacable Possesion of the within mentioned Land & Premises was Granted to the within named John Clement by the within named David Asseling Covenenter of these presents

At a Court held for Amelia County the 27th day of June 1772 This Indenture and the memorandum thereon Endorsed were acknowledged by the within named David Asselin & Elizabeth his wife Parties thereto and ordered to be Recorded the said Elizabeth having been first privily Examined as the Law directs
