This Indenture
made this twentieth Day of October and in the year of our Lord Christ one
thousand seven hundred and sixty two between George Lasure Webster of Amelia
County of the one part and Barshebay
Major of the other part Witnesseth that the said George Lasure Webster
for and in consideration of the Sum of sixty five Pounds of Lawful Money
of Virginia to him in Hand paid by the said Barshebay
Major the Receipt whereof the said George Lasure Webster doth hereby
acknowledge hath granted given bargained and sold and by these Presents
doth give grant bargain sell and confirm unto the said Barshebay
Major her Heirs and Assigns forever one certain Tract of Land containing
one Hundred and Fifty two acres Situate lying and being in Amelia County
on the upper side of flat Creek and bounded as followeth, to wit, Begining
James Hurts now Wm. Hurts corner pine thence along his line south twenty
one degrees east one hundred and eighty Poles to John Bentleys now Richard
Jones's corner thence east one hundred and five Poles along the said line
to a corner in the same thence North one one Hundred and sixteen Poles to
a corner White oak thence West one Hundred Poles to a corner Hiccory thence
thence north twenty four degrees East one Hundred and twenty Poles to Abraham
Hurts line thence West two Degrees South one Hundred and twenty Poles to
James Hurts line thence South Fifty Poles along James Hurts line to the
Begining with all Houses Orchards woods underwoods waters and Water courses
with all their appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise purtaining
To have and to hold the said Land and appurtenances unto the said Barshebay
Major her Heirs Exrs. Admrs. and Assigns forever and the said George
Lasure Webster doth for himself and his Heirs covenant agree with the said
Barshebay Major that he the said
George Lasure Webster and His Heirs the above Land and Premises unto the
said Barshebay Major and to her
Heirs forever or Assigns will warrant and forever defend In Witness whereof
he the said George Lasure Webster hath hereunto put his Hand and Seal the
day and year above Written.
Memorandum that on the twentieth Day of October one thousand seven Hundred and sixty two Levery and seisin of the within mentioned Lands and Premises is hereby acknowledged to be made in Presence of
At a Court held for Amelia County the 28th Day of October 1762 This Indenture was acknowledged by the within named George Lasure Webster and Cattron his Wife Parties hereto & ordered to be Recorded the said Cattron having been first Privily examined as the Law directs.
