This Indenture
made the Twelf day of October in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven
Hundred and Eighty two Between Edmd.
W. Clement of the County of Amelia of the one part and John White of
the said County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Edm.
W. Clement for and in consideration of the Sum of Twenty two pounds
current money to him in hand paid the Rec.t whereof he doth hereby acknowledge
hath granted bargain'd sold releas'd and confirm'd and by these presents
doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said John White his
Heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract of Land containing One Hundred
& Forty four Acres be the Same more or less and bounded as followeth
to wit, By John Tabb thence to the New dividing Line between the Land belong
to Edmund Clement Infant, thence
to Isham Clements Land & thence
to Henry Cox Line thence to the Land where on is a Mill the Property of
Isham Clements & Henry Cox
Senr. thence to the Beginning To have & to hold the said Land and premises
with their appurtenances unto the said John White his heirs and assigns
to the only proper use and behoof of the said John White his Heirs and assigns
forever and the said Edmd. W. Clement
for him and his Heirs the said Land and premises against him and his heirs
and all persons whatsoever claiming from by or under him them or any of
them to the said John White his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant
and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Edmd.
W. Clement hath hereunto set his hand seal the Day and Year above written
Memorandum That on the Twelf day of October one Thousand and Seven Hundred and Eighty two Livery and Seizen of the within mentioned Land and Premises was acknowledged to be made from Edmd. Walker Clement to the within Named Jno. White.
Rec.d of John White the Sum of Twenty two pounds Currant money in full for the within mention'd Land and Premises this Octo 21th 1782.
Amelia County Court Octr. the 21th 1782 This Indenture with Memorandum & Reciept was acknowledged by Edmund Walker Clement the paty thereto and ordered to be Recorded Elizabeth the wife having been first privily Examined as the Law directs.
